On Wednesday, 17th September 2025, four outbound students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) paid a courtesy call on the Vice Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Prof. Esmeranda Manful, as part of preparations for their upcoming exchange programme at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
The students Josephine Tweneboa Osei (3rd-year PhD, Public Health), Victoria Ahenkan (4th-year PhD, Sociology), Er-Menan Amaniampong (3rd-year PhD, Sociology), and Millicent Serwaa Marfo Ogyiri (3rd-year PhD, Pharmaceutical Microbiology) shared their academic backgrounds and expressed excitement about the opportunity.
Prof. Manful took them through their final orientation using the IPO’s outbound travel checklist. She advised them to combine academic diligence with cultural exploration, reminding them to enjoy the experience while remaining focused on their studies. She also encouraged them to participate actively in workshops and conferences. She emphasized that as ambassadors of KNUST, they carried the responsibility of upholding the university’s image abroad.
Prof. Manful encouraged them to inform their Heads of Department, supervisors, and the Director of the Graduate School about their exchange before their departure in October.
The students expressed their gratitude to IPO for facilitating the exchange and pledged to represent KNUST with excellence during their time in Berlin.
The meeting was supported by the IPO team, which included Mr. Joel Mensah, Inbound and Outbound Exchange Officer, and Mr. Karikari Gyimah Ankoana, Inbound and Outbound Exchange Officer.
