Fulbright Scholar Dr. Regina Lochmann Pays Courtesy Call on Vice Dean of International Programmes Office

On Monday, September 29th, 2025, Dr. Regina Lochmann, a Fulbright Scholar from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), paid a courtesy call on Professor Esmeranda Manful, Vice Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Professor Manful warmly welcomed Dr. Lochmann back to KNUST. She reaffirmed KNUST dedication to fostering global partnerships that enrich academic exchange, research, and capacity building. Dr. Lochmann, a fish nutritionist, first visited KNUST in 2022, and in August 2025, she began her Fulbright Scholarship with the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management working with her KNUST collaborator Professor Daniel Adjei Boateng also of the Department.

Dr. Lochmann expressed her enthusiasm for engaging with faculty and students throughout her residency and for developing sustainable academic and research linkages. She is contributing to teaching, learning, and extension activities within the Department of Fisheries and Watershed Management during her four-month sabbatical.

The meeting concluded with optimism about strengthening the partnership between KNUST and UAPB, particularly in the areas of fisheries, aquaculture, and related fields, while also expanding collaboration into other disciplines.
