On Monday, January 5, 2026, a delegation from Tennessee State University, Elizabeth City State University, The Conscious Group, and Biocatalysis Creation (USA) paid a courtesy visit to Professor Edmund Ekuadzi, Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO), KNUST.

The visit followed an earlier engagement by Mr. Robert Turner and Mr. Frederick Cawthon of Biocatalysis Creation, aimed at exploring potential areas of collaboration in research, innovation, and capacity building. Building on this, the delegation held further discussions to deepen partnerships. During the meeting, Mr. Frederick Cawthon indicated that the delegation’s visit to Ghana was aimed at immersing themselves in the country’s technology and innovation ecosystem, while identifying practical pathways for collaboration that would contribute to national development.

In welcoming the delegation, Professor Ekuadzi noted that the vision of the visiting institutions aligns strongly with KNUST’s mandate to train professionals who can address both local and global challenges. He emphasized the growing importance of entrepreneurship, particularly as higher education expands amid a saturated job market, and reaffirmed KNUST’s readiness to collaborate with like-minded partners to integrate technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship for the benefit of students and the wider community. He concluded his remarks by assuring the delegation of the IPO’s full support to advance the proposed engagements.

Also present were representatives from KNUST, including Mr. Makafui Bedzra (Innovation Manager, College of Engineering), Mrs. Eunice Adu Boahen (Intellectual Property Rights Administrator, Office of Grants and Research), and Mr. Michael Commeh (Technology Consultant, Technology Consultancy Centre). Also present from the International Programmes Office were Professor Mrs. Augustina Angelina Sylverken, Vice Dean; Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Senior Assistant Registrar; Ms. Ernestine Oheneba Danso, Collaborations and Partnerships Officer; and Ms. Patricia Frimpong-Manso, Visibility and Communications Officer.
