Prof. Holly Powell Kennedy of Yale School of Nursing Call on the Dean of International Programmes Office

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Yale School of Nursing on June 06, 2023, Prof. Holly Powell Kennedy has called on the Dean of International Programmes Office, Prof. Daniel Duah. The purpose of the MOU is to establish a partnership between the two academic institutions to enhance collaborations in research, clinical education and cross-cultural development through scholarly interactions and initiatives between students, faculty and staff.

Prof. Duah welcomed the team to the International Programmes Office and expressed his delight at the first steps to a greater partnership between KNUST and Yale University. He highlighted the importance of the partnership in the operation of the university and expressed the commitment of KNUST to support further collaborations with other Departments of both Universities.

Dr. Holly Powell Kennedy, Dean and Helen Vaney Professor of Midwifery, stated that Yale School of Nursing was keen on working together to optimize the impact of nursing research, education and innovation in health. The team discussed strategies for implementing the MOU and looked forward to the first steps to kickstart the collaboration. Both parties shared an overview of their universities and how the partnership could be expanded in future.

Other members of the team from Yale School of Nursing included Sohani Sirdeshmukh, Programme Manager, Office of Global Affairs and Planetary Health, Linda Ghampson, Lecturer in Simulation and Mr. Emmanuel Mankattah, a Researcher from Educational Assessments and Research Centre.

Present at the meeting was Mrs. Yvonne Baiden, Assistant Registrar at the International Programmes Office.
